  OPENWAVE NAMES NEW SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF QUALITY ASSURANCE
  

  Former Oracle and PeopleSoft Executive Susan Davies Joins Openwave Management Team
 
REDWOOD CITY, CA - October 25, 2007 -- Openwave Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: OPWV), one of the world's leading software innovators enabling revenue-generating personalized services which converge the mobile and broadband experience, today announced the appointment of Susan Davies as senior vice president of quality assurance (QA). In this newly created role, Davies will be responsible for driving best practice throughout the organization, with a focus on ensuring product readiness and enforcing rigorous quality standards, and improving the overall customer experience. Davies will report to Openwave President, Chief Executive Officer and interim Chairman Robert Vrij, effective immediately.

"Susan joins us with a prolific background in establishing best in class QA practices at several leading software companies, including Oracle and Peoplesoft, and I am pleased that she is joining Openwave's executive team," said Vrij. "Susan will serve a vital role in driving best practices and efficient process throughout the organization with a strong focus on bringing the customer experience in line with benchmark industry standards and the needs of a world class software organization."

Davies brings over a decade of global QA experience to Openwave. Previously, she served as Vice President of Corporate Quality and Customer Success at Polycom, Inc., a leader in conferencing equipment and network bridges. Before joining Polycom, Susan had a long career with PeopleSoft and subsequently with Oracle, following PeopleSoft's acquisition. As PeopleSoft's Vice President of Products and Technology Quality Engineering division, she led the integration discussions between PeopleSoft and Oracle and helped map the organizational structure and quality system processes across the entire Oracle organization.
