  Converged Communications Offering Powered by Openwave will be Demonstrated by Telefónica España at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona
 
BARCELONA, SPAIN, Mobile World Congress - February 11, 2008 -- Openwave Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: OPWV), one of the world's leading software innovators enabling revenue-generating personalized services which converge the mobile and broadband experience, today announced that leading European mobile operator, Telefónica España has successfully completed a one year trial of converged communications services powered by Openwave and will be demonstrating the converged mobile and PC solution in the Telefónica España booth during Mobile World Congress.

The Openwave-powered converged communications offering fulfills a long-awaited industry need for personalized, integrated communications services that offer seamless access to personal information, messaging services, internet content and communities across the mobile handset and PC.

Telefónica España's converged communications solution is designed to enable an integrated messaging experience for consumers by offering a central point of access for all their communications needs and personal information and content, enabling new ways for mobile and broadband operators to personalize, brand and monetize their Web messaging offerings. Leveraging Openwave's core messaging platform and client software products, the Telefónica España service also incorporates Openwave's latest converged communications offering, Rich Mail 3.0, a new product which was announced by Openwave today.
