  Openwave® Accelerator Receives Frost & Sullivan's 2009 North American Technology Innovation Award
 
SAN DIEGO, Calif., CTIA IT & Entertainment 2009 - October 8, 2009 -- Openwave Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: OPWV), one of the world's leading software innovators offering a mediation platform and tools to mobilize the Internet, today announced that Openwave Accelerator has received the Frost & Sullivan 2009 Award for Technology Innovation in the North American Mobile Data Services Market. The Frost & Sullivan Award for Technology Innovation is presented to the company that has demonstrated technological superiority within its industry. This Award recognizes the ability of the company to successfully develop and introduce new technology, formulate a well-designed product family, and make significant product performance contributions to the industry.

Accelerator is available as a value-added service on the Integra Mobile Internet Service Platform. Integra's plug-in framework means that all data traffic routed through Integra can benefit from Accelerator. Openwave Accelerator is clientless and focuses on optimizing the number of transactions necessary to deliver content while reducing the volume of data per transaction, which can allow for easier traffic flow. Simultaneously, the network can handle more users and more concurrent interactions with the same resources so that less network shortages can impact the billable traffic.
