Product Spotlight: Openwave Integra

As converged networks and new technologies continue to evolve and become more complex, consumers expect a more sophisticated mobile experience, one that is personalized, secure and seamless across networks and devices. To compete, operators need to deliver content and services that are easy to discover, access and use. Web browsing is a critical mobile data service. OpenWeb enables operators to offer consumers a broader range of content choices by delivering full Internet web pages in a user-friendly and device-intelligent format to any mobile data-enabled device.

  • Access to the entire web must come with protection. Mobile Security Suite delivers a multi-protocol, multi-service defense across messaging, browsing and downloads, guarding against the rapidly growing variety of threats to security and operator brand (e.g. content filtering).

  • Contextual Merchandising is an advertising solution that dynamically inserts targeted ads as well as contextually-based premium/portal links into the content that is being accessed by the user.

  • Integra's streaming proxy brings the control and accountability of the browsing world to videos and helps monetizing the traffic. Users can stream videos discovered on controlled portals like traffic cameras, news clips, weather reports and live events. Multimedia Transcoding performs dynamic audio and streamed content transcoding that includes the rendering of Adobe Flash™ content.


Avoiding Dumb Pipe Syndrome
 
With data access revenue flattening it is important for operators to enable subscribers to go where they want (i.e., off-net) and monetize this traffic.
