  Push-to-Talk over Cellular Embedded Client

Openwave® Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) Embedded Client offers handset manufacturers and platform vendors a low risk opportunity to enter and compete in the strategic markets of PoC and voice-messaging with the assurance of interoperability today and into the future.

  Feature-rich

In addition to integrating the PoC Client into numerous handset platforms, Openwave has integrated the PoC client onto the desktop (for GSM networks). This enables enterprise users to use a PC for push-to-talk communication. Pre-integration between Openwave's PoC and IM clients allows customers to rapidly deliver combined services. Openwave PoC Embedded Client is already deployed successfully on commercial CDMA and GSM networks.

Interoperable and Future-proof

Openwave PoC Embedded Client is compliant with Industry Consortium (NEMS/MENSA) specifications, and will be among the first to market with full OMA compliance in 2005. Openwave's PoC software is also being tested with Industry Consortium partners and is certified for full IOT with the Motorola PoC server—the most widely deployed PoC server to date. Looking to the future, Openwave is actively engaged in the development of IMS based clients which include: Picture Chat, Push to View, and Push to Message (Push to Send).

PoC in a Week

Openwave offers a one-week workshop which enables customers to try Openwave PoC Embedded Client on their own handset hardware, and provides a rapid and reliable route to enabling push-to-talk services. Customers will benefit from:
  • The ability to evaluate a working version of the software
  • Hands-on support of integration engineers, ensuring a deep understanding of porting requirements
  • A reduction in overall device integration time
