Smart Call is a suite of call management services that leverages operators' core voice business to give subscribers more control over making and taking calls. Smart Call services use messaging and call handling in real-time to let mobile, fixed-line and broadband subscribers decide how and when they want to communicate based on their availability, preferred mode (SMS, voice, MMS, etc), current location and other personal factors.
Smart Call builds on subscriber behavior and preferences to handle the inconvenience of responding to ill-timed incoming calls and placing unnecessary outgoing calls (e.g., games of phone tag). These services can be deployed across multiple types of networks and devices to provide remote call handling options for fixed-line subscribers and a seamless fixed-to-mobile user experience.
With Mobile Call Management, mobile operators and MVNOs can solve some lingering communication problems. Subscribers can respond to incoming calls using real-time or preset call handling options on the handset. They can get information about calls lost while the handset is turned off or out of range. Mobile Call Management eliminates phone tag by notifying subscribers when a called party is next available for a call or automatically reconnecting them with the called party when both become available.
