  Openwave Voice and Video Messaging (OVM) is a fully featured and flexible messaging solution that allows service providers to offer large-scale, carrier-grade IP voice and video messaging services.

 

  OVM is designed to support both voice and video call processing through a fully scripted telephony, web and speech user interface. The platform supports voice, video, email and fax messages, plus full customization based on operator requirements with a full set of voice messaging features and user interface emulations available in a variety of locales.

Subscriber Features
 
OVM enables operators to offer their subscribers a convenient, simple messaging experience that includes:
  • Voice, fax and video messages in one personalized mailbox
  • A variety of greetings such as caller ID-based, celebrity and animated greetings
  • Notification features such as message waiting indicators, cut-through paging, scheduled notifications and aggregated text messages for missed call notifications
Extensive consumer and commercial features extend OVM into additional markets to meet subscribers' needs at home and at the office.

OVM Architecture
 
OVM's IP-based architecture allows service providers to deploy services to a large subscriber segment by incorporating low-cost, high-volume hardware with the simplicity and cost effectiveness of a single message store and directory.

The components are based on the most current and widely supported standards to protect the service provider's long-term investment. Standards include SIP, VoiceXML, CCXML, SMPP, VPIM2, LDAP and IS41 MSGDIR, which allow easy integration with third-party technologies over open interfaces, plus the flexibility to implement new services.

OVM is built on the highly scalable and flexible Openwave Email Mx platform and is IMS-ready.
